Cary Cleaver

Cary Cleaver administered a statewide artists-in-residence program for 15 years, 1981-1996, placing hundreds of artists in schools and community arts centers throughout Georgia to work with thousands of students and teachers. She served as a grant review panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts and conduced program evaluations in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina. She was in charge of communications and planning for the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA) from 1996-1998.

Since leaving the GCA, Cary has assisted with program design and evaluation for the Georgia Coalition for Arts Education, the Atlanta Partnership for Arts in Learning, the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville and Macon Arts - a community alliance on a project to build community-wide partnerhsips for arts in education.

Cary exhibits her hand-colored photographs of landscapes and cityscapes spanning 35 years and several countries with a pARTicular Group of Women Artists.

Cary also builds websites for artists and arts groups such as this site, storyteller Sherry Norfolk, painter Kate Gasser, metro Atlanta pARTicular Women Artists, and the Play of Herod, in which she has also performed for many years.
