I continually look for beauty wherever it occurs ~ focusing on observations anchored in light, texture, composition and color rather than subject. As an architect, I concede that many of my images are of architectural subjects. But I try not to limit myself and work to see interesting images in all areas and aspects of my surroundings. My photos are not a result of a complex philosophy or pursuit. Simply, over time I have come to "see" as my camera sees; and, I continue to be amazed where I find my most striking images. The reality is that I take images that, for many tangible and intangible reasons, make me feel good. As a result, I prefer my images to be appreciated first for their thoughtful beauty ~ beyond that, it is up to you, the observer. -- Larry L. Grams, May 2004 |
